Update on Our Durham Office

Adoption Matters Durham Office

Last year, we shared that we had made the decision to sell our Durham office. Some of our buildings had become larger than our current needs, and the rising costs of maintenance meant that selling was the most responsible choice. As a charity, it’s essential that we direct as much of our resources as possible toward supporting children and families. You can read more about the background to this decision here.

We are now pleased to announce that the property has been sold to Renewable Energy Management Ltd, a leading provider of comprehensive renewable energy solutions based in the North East of England, and we will continue to operate from the ground floor as tenants. Our new landlords have already made thoughtful improvements to the space, including upgraded kitchen facilities.

We were also delighted that six-year-old Hugo Swales (son of Jordan Swales) became one of the youngest supporters of Adoption Matters by taking on and completing the Mini Great North Run last September raising a whopping £1,629.00 for our charity — a gesture we deeply appreciated. You can read more about Hugo’s efforts here.

We are delighted that our North East team will remain in the same, now improved, office that has been their home for many years. This arrangement allows us to continue providing a stable, welcoming base for our work while ensuring that our resources are used where they matter most: supporting our families.

We are now in the process of updating the signage at the site, so watch this space!
